Gastroenterologist
Location: Syracuse, New York
About Us:
Associated Gastroenterologists of Central New York AGCNY is a leading independent gastroenterology practice, serving the Central New York region since 1975. With two office locations and two endoscopy suites, our practice provides comprehensive and high-quality gastrointestinal care to a large and geographically diverse patient population.
AGCNY operates an in-house pathology lab, an anesthesia practice, and an advanced research department, allowing for a multidisciplinary approach to patient care. We pride ourselves on our strong culture, high patient volumes, and commitment to medical excellence.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Gastroenterologist to join our team of highly skilled physicians and advanced practice providers. This position offers a well-balanced mix of office-based consultations, outpatient endoscopy, and hospital-based procedures. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to practice in a supportive environment with state-of-the-art equipment, dedicated nursing staff, and access to research and clinical trials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive gastrointestinal care, including consultations, endoscopic procedures, and follow-ups.
- Perform upper endoscopy (EGD), colonoscopy, and other relevant procedures in our state-of-the-art endoscopy suites.
- Participate in a shared call schedule, ensuring a manageable work-life balance.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including advanced practice providers, pathologists, anesthesiologists, and support staff.
- Engage in ongoing quality improvement initiatives and practice growth opportunities.
- Optional participation in clinical research and teaching opportunities.
Qualifications:
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
- Completion of an accredited gastroenterology fellowship program.
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Gastroenterology.
- Eligible for medical licensure in the state of New York.
- Strong clinical, diagnostic, and procedural skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

- Competitive starting base salary $400-600k, with productivity-based incentives.

Nurse Practitioner - Gastroenterology
Location: Syracuse, New York
Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and flexible Nurse Practitioner to join our Gastroenterology practice. The ideal candidate will provide outpatient care in the office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered care in the outpatient office setting, managing gastroenterological conditions such as IBD, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, GERD, and other digestive disorders.
- Perform diagnostic evaluations, treatment planning, and follow-up care for patients undergoing procedures such as endoscopies and colonoscopies.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care in both the office and hospital settings.
- Educate patients and families on gastroenterological conditions, treatment options, and preventive care strategies.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records in compliance with medical standards.
Schedule:
- Office-based work providing outpatient care.
Qualifications:
- Active Nurse Practitioner license in New York State.
- Prior experience in gastroenterology or a related specialty is preferred but not required.
- Strong clinical skills, with the ability to manage a variety of gastroenterological conditions independently.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with physicians, office staff, and hospital teams.
